Set Yourself Up for Success

Preparing for your first telehealth session doesn’t have to be complicated. A few simple steps can help you feel confident, comfortable, and ready to focus on your goals.

Before Your Session

  • Choose a Private Space:
Find a quiet, comfortable area where you can speak freely. Many clients use a bedroom, office, or even a parked car for privacy.
  • Check Your Internet Connection:
Stable Wi-Fi or cellular data ensures smooth video and audio.
  • Test Your Device:
Use a laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone. Plug in headphones if possible for better sound quality.
  • Minimize Distractions:
Silence notifications and let others in your household know you’ll be in a private session.
  • Prepare Emotionally:
Bring a journal or notes if there are specific things you’d like to discuss.

During the Session

  • Be yourself—this is a judgment-free space.
  • Take breaks if you need to pause or collect your thoughts.
  • Expect gentle guidance from your clinician; you’re always in control.
  • Have water or tissues nearby for comfort.

After the Session

Many clients find it helpful to take a few minutes afterward to breathe, stretch, or write reflections. Healing can be emotional; it’s okay to process slowly.

Your therapist may share worksheets, grounding tools, or follow-up exercises through our secure client portal.

Your Comfort, Our Priority

We know it can feel strange to open up through a screen, but most clients find telehealth surprisingly comfortable—and even more personal—once they try it.

Our clinicians are trained to create warmth and connection in virtual sessions, so you’ll always feel supported and seen.
